Hands-on review: ZVEX Effects Fuzz Probe

I purchased my Tascam Mk 424 at Musician's Friend for 349.00.

I like the unit as it was fairly easy to use once I read thru the manual and the price was good for quality of unit.

I recorded over the summer and the recording was fine, but this winter I listened back to the cassette as I was ready to add a harmony vocal and there was a static click sound here and there on the tape. I've called a tascam tech and he said it was humidity, but since I live in CT where it is winter and very dry, I told him I didn't think it was. I asked if it could be too dry and he doubted it. I asked around some more and someone suggested a humidifier and spraying static guard on the rug. These suggestions didn't work either. I think the quality of this unit is very good.

I rellay like the unit but am hoping to clear up this static problem.
